Prom Hair, Prom Hair and more Prom Hair!
“Prom Hair Ideas”
Prom is just around the corner girls and it’s time to talk about your prom hair. Get prepared now for one of the most glamorous nights in your high school career by dress shopping, shoe shopping and, of course, looking for a stunning prom hair style to complete your look. This year retro waves are all the rage, as are braided buns when it comes to prom hair. You can also try accessorizing a simple style to dress it up a bit.

Here’s how to get these three hot hairstyles:

Retro Waves for Prom Hair

Get retro waves by using a setting spray and hot rollers. Spritz a setting spray throughout strands, part your hair deep to one side and then use hot rollers to roll your hair forward toward your face. Roll all your hair and allow your locks to cool completely before unrolling. Once you’ve unrolled your hair from the rollers, take a soft bristled brush and gently brush them into soft, retro waves. Spray a light hold hairspray all over so that your prom hair style stays in place all night long. Glam this hair style up a bit by adding a flower or hair accessory right above your ear on one side of this hairstyle.

Braided Buns for Prom Hair

A braided bun style for your prom hair is both glamorous and timeless. Reminiscent of Cleopatra days, the braided bun is actually fairly simple to do. Pull all your hair back into a sleek ponytail, securing it toward the middle of the back of your head. Then, leaving a small section out (for braiding), wrap the hair from the ponytail around the elastic, making a bun and securing the bun with two criss-crossed bobby pins (or more if needed). Braid the small section of hair that was left out and wrap that around the bun and secure with a few bobby pins as well. Be careful to conceal the bobby pins, making your style look seamless. Spray the whole style with a hard hold hairspray and you’ve got beautiful prom hair.

Hair Accessories for Prom Hair

A fast and easy way to glam up any prom hair is with hair accessories. Try adding in something sparkly for a stunning style fix. Or depending on your look, you can add in a flower to your hair (this would be perfect if you have an exotic looking prom dress) or even a beautiful hea...

New prom hairstyles, try something easy with hair sticks

“Prom Hairstyles that are Unique”

Prom hairstyles don’t have to be the same old, same old . . . or worse yet having the same updo as half of the other hairstyles at the prom. Too many prom hairstyles come with a huge price tag in both time and money. It isn’t necessary to spend $100 and spend all day in a hairstyling salon to achieve a unique prom hairstyle. Hair sticks offer some pretty neat ways to create really unique updo prom hairstyle. Here thanks to LongLocks.com are some great ideas for prom hairstyles you can do at home

Prom Hairstyles & Formal Updos Created With Hair Sticks

LongLocks HairSticks can be used to create a variety of different hairstyles, with a variety of different hair types, from shoulder length to very long hair. You can choose to use hair sticks as anchors for your hairstyle and show almost none of the stick, or in the case of the more beautifully ornate LongLocks hair accessories such as LongLocks GeishaStix or LongLocks DecoStix, use them as decorative hair jewelry so more of the exquisite detail of the hair accessories shows. The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless, hair sticks are appropriate for everything from creating everyday hairstyles to formal updos for prom to romantic wedding hairstyles. With extremely little practice you will find LongLocks HairSticks to be both versatile and essential tools in easily creating elegant prom hairstyles, and will even find yourself creating new haristyles of your own!

The “Bun”

The Bun hairstyle is achieved by coiling the hair into a basic bun and then “stitching” the bun to the hair against your head using an in-and-out sewing motion as you insert the hair sticks in a crossed design. You may find your hair is more controllable by putting it in a small...

The Short Hair Prom Styles This Season . . . Short & Sweet

This year’s prom season is sure to turn up more short hair prom styles, than we’ve seen in years past. Who ever invented the myth that you have to have long hair in order to finish off a high glamour night? I mean hair can be fabulous at any length providing you have the right tools and advice. Well, I am here to tell you that prom 2008 can be remarkable at any length.

“This season it’s

styles” If you have already found your dream gown, than the hard part is done, you can relax. Hairstyles; however, are a little more tricky. There are so many options to choose from it is next to impossible to tell what look is right for you. It is best to go back to the dress. You basically have a mood you are going to portray, a feeling that will come from your head to your feet.

If your dress is sweet, soft, and long it is best to choose something classical. You want the hair to be more polished and sleek. When you are wearing a strapless dress it is best to opt for a more romantic look. You should try something with a flexible curl or lightly pinned up. Don’t be shy of the pin up, just because you do not have the length doesn’t mean you cannot work with the short hair you do have. And when you have a dress that is a little flirty and fun, make sure your short hairstyle is mimicking the same sassiness.

Short Hair—Classical

1. Wash and towel dry hair. Apply a coin size amount of smoothing or straightening balm into hair from back to front. Lightly sprits a volumizing mousse at the roots only.
2. Blow dry hair upside down using your fingers to pick through the hair gently.
3. When the hair is almost dry, mist a setting spray thoroughly through the hair. Wrap one inch sections of hair around large Velcro rollers. Finish the pattern through to the front of the head.
4. Mist the rolled hair generously with setting spray. Blow-dry the rest of the dampness out of the hair on medium heat. Let the rollers cool down.
5. Remove all the rollers and toss the hair upside down and finger pick the hair with a shine pomade. Using a vent or flat brush, brush the hair lightly. Create a dramatic parting and smooth the ends under.

1. Spray a setting spray all over previously blow-dried hair. Using a medium barrel curling iron, wrap one inch sections of hair around the barrel. Spray and wind each curl back to the root and fasten with a pin.
2. After the entire head is finished start removing all the pins. Toss the hair lightly and then form through the curls with a light pomade.
3. Create your desired parting and lightly back comb your fringe area to give it a slight bit of volume.
4. Twist and pin the sides back behind the ears. Allow the curls to form naturally through the nape of the head.
