Braid the small section of hair that was left out and wrap that around the bun and secure with a few bobby pins as well. Be careful to conceal the bobby pins, making your style look seamless. Spray the whole style with a hard hold hairspray and you’ve got beautiful prom hair.

The Short Hair Prom Styles This Season . . . Short & Sweet

This year’s prom season is sure to turn up more short hair prom styles, than we’ve seen in years past. Who ever invented the myth that you have to have long hair in order to finish off a high glamour night? I mean hair can be fabulous at any length providing you have the right tools and advice. Well, I am here to tell you that prom 2008 can be remarkable at any length.

There are so many options to choose from it is next to impossible to tell what look is right for you. It is best to go back to the dress. You basically have a mood you are going to portray, a feeling that will come from your head to your feet.

If your dress is sweet, soft, and long it is best to choose something classical. You want the hair to be more polished and sleek. When you are wearing a strapless dress it is best to opt for a more romantic look. You should try something with a flexible curl or lightly pinned up. Don’t be shy of the pin up, just because you do not have the length doesn’t mean you cannot work with the short hair you do have. And when you have a dress that is a little flirty and fun, make sure your short hairstyle is mimicking the same sassiness.

Short Hair—Classical

1. Wash and towel dry hair. Apply a coin size amount of smoothing or straightening balm into hair from back to front. Lightly sprits a volumizing mousse at the roots only.
2. Blow dry hair upside down using your fingers to pick through the hair gently.
3. When the hair is almost dry, mist a setting spray thoroughly through the hair. Wrap one inch sections of hair around large Velcro rollers. Finish the pattern through to the front of the head.
4. Mist the rolled hair generously with setting spray. Blow-dry the rest of the dampness out of the hair on medium heat. Let the rollers cool down.
5. Remove all the rollers and toss the hair upside down and finger pick the hair with a shine pomade. Using a vent or flat brush, brush the hair lightly. Create a dramatic parting and smooth the ends under.

Short Hair — Romantic

1. Spray a setting spray all over previously blow-dried hair. Using a medium barrel curling iron, wrap one inch sections of hair around the barrel. Spray and wind each curl back to the root and fasten with a pin.
2. After the entire head is finished start removing all the pins. Toss the hair lightly and then form through the curls with a light pomade.
3. Create your desired parting and lightly back comb your fringe area to give it a slight bit of volume.
4. Twist and pin the sides back behind the ears. Allow the curls to form naturally through the nape of the head.

Short & Sassy

1. Wash hair with a curl enhancing shampoo. Light...
